I’ve always been tuned into American affairs .. spent years in journalism, so following the news and weighing in is pretty much second nature to me.

But I’m rooted here in my homeland, raising a family of five, with zero plans to emigrate... never even crossed my mind.
And honestly, even if I did consider moving at this stage in life, the U.S. wouldn’t make the list. If improving my family’s finances was the goal, I really don’t think that’s the place to be these days.
The world’s a small village now, everything’s connected, and the line between local and global news has totally blurred.
Just sharing my two cents, wishing peace and happiness to all the good souls out there…

Formally, this is presented as balance. Structurally, it can function as narrative normalization.
The issue is not the existence of opposing viewpoints. A serious media environment requires that. The issue is the asymmetry between a highly organized state narrative and an audience that is assumed to have the time, literacy, and critical filters to deconstruct strategic messaging in real time !!

Hard power shapes facts on the ground. Soft power shapes how those facts are understood, justified, and eventually internalized. The argument, then, is that both operate within the same geopolitical ecosystem .. one through force, the other through framing... 😉
