The Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) is inviting proposals from African scientists working to advance the discovery and development of next-generation antimalarial interventions.
Priority areas include:
🧪 Medicinal Chemistry
• Novel compounds with confirmed antimalarial activity
• Molecules active against the asexual blood stage, with additional activity against liver stages and/or gametocytes considered an advantage
• Strong medicinal chemistry optimization plans encouraged
🔬 Assay Development & Screening
• Innovative assays supporting the discovery and development of new antimalarial medicines
• Proposals should clearly outline assay purpose, status, and available screening data
💻 Computer-Aided Drug Discovery
• Cheminformatics and bioinformatics approaches to identify novel antimalarial compounds or drug targets
• Methodologies should be validated or benchmarked
🧬 Innovative Biology
• Large molecules, biologics, or oligonucleotides for malaria treatment or chemoprevention
