Sen. Tomlinson to Dionne Jackson Miller: This Isn’t Opposition to NaRRA, It’s a Demand for Accountability
Last night on All Angles, Sen. Cleveland Tomlinson responded directly to the NaRRA debate.
He pointed to the disconnect: the PM says the government is being “tactical” with traceable spending, but the Auditor General’s report found no commitment or plan attached to the funds at the time of assessment.
He agreed on a core issue: Jamaica’s long-standing implementation deficit. Announcing projects means little if capital budgets aren’t spent efficiently and oversight is weak.
“We’re not against NaRRA,” Tomlinson clarified. “We’ve always said it needs the proper governance structure for the billions it will manage. Framing that as being against NaRRA is a red herring.”
The price of electricity in 2016, under the very same JPS licence, was US$0.26 per kilowatt hour. Today it is in excess of US$0.40. That increase has occurred under this Andrew Holness led Government’s watch, under the same licence it now uses as an excuse.

I couldn't believe my ears when @christufton who is eyeing the leadership of the JLP in November said, "people don't business with corruption." I was blown away because most of the ills in society is because of corruption. The JLP has normalized corruption.
