🎙️ Jose Mourinho on Michael Carrick:
Reporter:
“Jose, you’ve managed United before and know what it takes to win there. Some people say Carrick’s style can’t win trophies… what do you think?”
Mourinho:
(laughs)
“Since Carrick arrived, he has beaten Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs… and even Villa, who are doing very well.
So tell me… if you beat the best teams, why can you not win trophies? Finals are not played against small teams. They are played against the best.
And if I have to choose between two managers… one who wins against small teams, and one who wins against big teams… I choose the one who wins against big teams. Because that is what wins you finals.”
The Luke Shaw joke is exactly the sort of dressing-room humour you'd expect from a player who's been around the game as long as Casemiro.
But the line that hits hardest is: "I didn't just play for Manchester United. I helped rebuild Manchester United."
That's the mentality of a winner.
When Casemiro arrived, plenty of people talked about trophies, experience and leadership. What they rarely mention is that elite players don't join clubs just to collect a wage. They want to leave a mark.
Whether people agree with every part of that statement or not, nobody can question how much he cared. You don't get emotional talking about a club unless it genuinely means something to you.
And the image of him watching United from Madrid thinking, "If only I could get on that pitch and help them" is exactly why supporters connect with players.
Football fans can spot the difference between someone who played for the badge and someone who simply passed through. #MUFC
🚨 Casemiro on Luke Shaw's first goal of the season and his emotional farewell:
🗣️ Casemiro:
“It was a happy moment for all of us. I joked with Luke during the celebration and said: 'With all the goals you score in training, you waited until my final game of the season to score your first one?' (Laughs) Honestly, I would've never forgiven him if he finished the season without scoring because I've seen some of the beautiful goals he scores in training.
After the game, everything became emotional for me. The send-off from my teammates. The hugs. The messages. When I got home and saw my wife and children, I was in tears. Because I started thinking about the journey.
I remember watching Manchester United from Madrid before I joined. Sometimes I'd see the midfield getting overrun and think: 'If only I could get on that pitch and help them.' That's how badly I wanted to play for this club.
And now I'm leaving a team that is happy, confident and moving in the right direction. That's what makes me proud. Because I didn't just play for Manchester United. I helped rebuild Manchester United. And that's something I'll carry with me forever.”
The same recruitment team that found Lammens when nobody was looking. The same data team that picked Šeško over Gyökeres and everyone else being thrown around.
These are not online tacticos like yourself.
Éderson is 26, proven, consistent, barely injured across 3 seasons in one of the most demanding systems in Europe. This is exactly the signing you make in a summer where you need depth and reliability, not noise.
But some of you want United to open every window with a €100m signing. You know what that does? It inflates the market. Suddenly every club knows United are coming with big money and every fee goes up.
Smart clubs don't work like that.
You don't watch Serie A. You haven't tracked his numbers. You just know he's not the flashy name you had in your head so he must be a downgrade.
This is football business. Not a FIFA career mode. Wake up.

If by the virtue of @Arsenal new signings this summer, they still don't win the EPL...
Arteta should be "Emphatically" sacked.
'cos, what else?!
#EPL#Summer#Transfers#PL#FPL#Arsenal
Well he won the EPL. Then got to 2 finals and lost them.
He's tried.
He passed that!!
If he doesn't win a silverware next season
Straight sacking.
#PSGARS#Penalties
If Arteta doesn't win the #PL & doesn't at least get to 1-2 final of different competitions.
He should be sacked and just allow the Emery-Arteta trend that similarly happened in 2019.
Cos, What else?!

I’ve started seeing Manchester United fans, especially the Mark Goldbridge minions, saying we should have signed Andoni Iraola instead of Liverpool, as if Michael Carrick isn’t miles better than him.
These are the same people who wanted the club to sign Baleba and sell Bruno Fernandes last season.
Honestly, if I wasn’t a United fan, I’d probably be one of their biggest haters because our fanbase are so ungrateful, imagine the disrespect after everything Carrick has done for us.
