거창한 일이 있었기 때문이 아닙니다. 아주 사소한 사건 하나를 통해 PUBG 한국 커뮤니티의 일부 사람들과 관련 스트리머들이 베트남인을 어떻게 대하는지를 보여주었기 때문입니다.

베트남인을 모욕하는 것만으로도 이미 용납할 수 없는 일입니다. 베트남 여성들을 모욕하는 것은 더욱 받아들일 수 없습니다. 그런데 더 경멸스러운 것은 일부 사람들이 베트남과 한국의 역사에서 어두운 부분까지 일부러 들춰내 베트남인을 조롱하고 모욕하려 했다는 것입니다. 정작 자신들의 역사에도 자랑스럽다고만 할 수 없는 부분들이 분명히 존재하는데 말입니다.

한국인이 베트남에 관광을 오든, 일을 하러 오든, 사업을 하러 오든, 혹은 베트남에서 생활을 하든 베트남 사람들은 여전히 친절과 존중으로 그들을 환영합니다.

하지만 그러한 친절이 누구에게든 베트남에 와서 우월주의적인 태도를 보이고 베트남인을, 특히 베트남 여성들을 모욕할 수 있는 면허가 되는 것은 아닙니다.

역사는 한 민족이 자신에게 유리한 부분만 골라서 이야기하고 그것을 자랑거리로 삼기 위한 도구가 아닙니다. 역사를 이야기하고 싶다면, 자신의 역사 전체를 정면으로 바라볼 용기부터 가져야 합니다.

저는 한국인 전체를 이러한 행동과 동일시하지 않습니다. 제가 경멸하는 것은 베트남인을 모욕해 놓고도 자신들이 다른 사람들보다 위에 설 권리가 있다고 생각하는 일부 개인들의 태도입니다.

그리고 PUBG에 대해서도 마찬가지입니다. 저를 모욕당한 것처럼 느끼게 만드는 커뮤니티를 가진 게임을 계속해서 이용할 필요는 없습니다.

게임을 삭제하는 것은 아주 간단합니다.

하지만 자신의 자존심과 존엄을 지키는 것이야말로 더 중요한 일입니다.

1. This wasn't the first time the tournament was held; in previous years, "stream sniping" was considered normal and was even permitted to "create content" or "farm clips."

2. Knowing it had been allowed previously, Himass asked the tournament staff—officials appointed by Krafton—before starting the match: "Is stream sniping allowed—just like in previous years?" The staff answered "YES." Himass and Tanvuu even double-checked, and the answer was "YES" both times.

3. Invited to the tournament to contribute to the community as "streamers" rather than "professional players," they simply wanted to have fun with everyone and create content.

4. Himass admitted that after the showmatch, the organizers (Krafton) demanded an apology post to smooth things over and ensure no further issues arose. Initially, Himass and Tanvuu refused; from their perspective, they hadn't done anything wrong, so why apologize? However, under pressure from Krafton, they were forced to post apologies—a decision they later regretted. Immediately afterward, Krafton and the female streamer "S" used those very apology posts to accuse Himass and Tanvuu. If you were in their shoes, wouldn't you feel aggrieved? Do you think Himass and Tanvuu were actually in the wrong?

5. The penalties are truly absurd; in their official announcement, Krafton themselves apologized for management and communication failures, admitting fault for mishandling the rulebook creation process. It is sheer madness to amend the rules on September 19, 2026, specifically to penalize an action that took place on September 17, 2026. Do you honestly find that reasonable?

6. Based on what I have shared, I hope you guys understand that it is precisely because of the injustice faced by Himass and Tanvuu—and Krafton’s brazen attitude—that the Vietnamese community must stand united. We share a collective resolve to restore the honor of these two top-tier players. We have neither the time nor the blind stupidity to defend something that was a violation from the very start.

Countless matches, countless late nights grinding rank, countless chicken dinners now I look at the icon on my screen and don't even want to open it anymore.

EXPOSED: KRAFTON’s Fake Charity & PR Stunt
Veteran player LongK just publicly exposed KRAFTON for faking a $100,000 charity donation during PCS Charity Showdown APAC 2020.
While the champions (DivisionX Gaming) received their $40,000 prize money, over 2.3 billion VND (~$100k) pledged to the Vietnam Fatherland Front was NEVER delivered—conveniently blamed on "taxes and transfer procedures."
They used charity as cheap marketing to clout-chase, gain community goodwill, and inflate the tournament's image.
After the hype died down, they backed out using bureaucratic excuses. $100k isn't small money. During the height of COVID-19, that money could have saved and supported countless struggling families.
Promising charity for public praise and then withholding the funds is pure deception. Holding onto money meant for a crisis community is unacceptable.
Is this the "integrity" @EWC_EN @EWC_AR want to endorse? Time to hold Krafton accountable.

The recent PUBG Asia Stars controversy has raised serious concerns over competitive fairness, transparency, disciplinary consistency, and equal treatment between regions.

KRAFTON itself acknowledged failures in its handling of the incident.

There are also concerns about possible preferential treatment toward Korean teams. We ask for an independent investigation based on evidence, not assumptions.

If PUBG cannot guarantee a fair and transparent competitive environment for every region, remove PUBG from future EWC & ENC events until meaningful reforms are made.

No special treatment.

No favoritism.

Same rules for everyone.

I completely agree with this. The whole situation was handled so badly, especially when the players were punished for something that wasn’t even against the rules at the time. The rules released on the 14th didn’t prohibit stream sniping, yet a new rule was added on the 19th and somehow applied to matches played on the 17th. Pretty convenient to introduce a new rule on the 19th and then use it to punish something that happened on the 17th. What a way to handle the situation? 🙂

The crux of the matter is that under the tournament's rules, stream sniping was not a violation, it was not cheating at all (and had even been confirmed as permitted by the organizers). The organizers also warned in the rulebook that if players chose not to delay their stream and any disadvantage occurred as a result, the participants would bear full responsibility. Naturally, they then changed the rules on September 19th, without any announcement and handed out penalties for a 'violation' that occurred on September 17th.
