Facts and sources:

• The UK grooming gang scandals are real and well documented. Cases in Rotherham, Rochdale, Telford, and other towns resulted in major investigations, criminal convictions, and government inquiries.

• The claim that there was “absolutely no mainstream media coverage” is false. The scandals have been covered for years by national newspapers, the BBC, parliamentary investigations, and government inquiries.

• Recent reviews, including the Casey audit, found that some local data showed an overrepresentation of men of Pakistani heritage in certain grooming gang cases. However, the report also stated that national data collection has been poor, with offender ethnicity missing in many cases, making broad nationwide conclusions difficult.

• The UK government has accepted recommendations to improve data collection on offender ethnicity and investigate institutional failures.

• The widely shared figure of “250,000 rapes by Muslims over 70 years” is highly disputed and does not come from official UK crime statistics. Current government and police data do not support using that number as an established national statistic.
