***GREAT TEACHING FRAMEWORK***
Over the last few months we have been working on developing our great teaching framework to ensure every student experiences consistently high quality teaching.
Our framework has four key drivers of excellence:
✅ Subject knowledge
✅ Relationships
✅ Routines
✅ Hard Thinking
The framework has six principles, key components and linked techniques from @WALKTHRUs_5, @teacherhead, @olicav and TLAC @Doug_Lemov. We have mapped the techniques to the Great Teaching Toolkit.
For each technique, we have codified what it means and our teaching and practice labs CPD sessions allow staff to get it, see it and try it.
We then use @Steplab_co for our coaching model to keep it, fit it and continue to try it through deliberate practice.

SATs week reminder
some children will walk into school tomorrow carrying far more than test anxiety:
difficult weekend
no sleep
arguments at home
worry
hunger
Sometimes their bucket is full before the paper is even on the desk
It’s manic first thing but keep a close eye on those children
Tomorrow, thousands of Y6 children across England sit their SATs.
But remember:
this cohort started primary school in Sep 2019.
They were just beginning school life when the world changed.
They missed normal classrooms, playtimes, routines, friendships & years of uninterrupted learning.
And yet here they are.
Still trying.
Still growing.
Before the tests begin tomorrow:
remind children that SATs measure some things but never their kindness, creativity, humour, resilience or potential.
For Y6 pupils everywhere:
we are proud of you already ❤️
Read the signs when the Almighty’s telling you to move on. Don’t put a question mark where He has put a full stop. It’s not in our capacity to fully comprehend all that’s going on. Only He does. Our job is to trust Him. But know that He will heal the pain & mend the broken heart.
Almighty. Keep reminding us that You can heal us in a moment. You can forgive in an instant. You can make the impossible a reality. May we always be grateful for everything You’ve bestowed on us. Aameen.
There is no life without trials. There is no success without patience. The harder your test, the more hopeful you should become, because the Almighty’s help is near.
Are you the person who sees the glass as half full rather than half empty? Remember, being positive is one of the main things you need for survival. Your ability to do this, no matter what life sends your way is key to being happy & appreciating where you are in life. Thank the Almighty.
Times are tough. They’re extremely confusing and trying. Distractions aplenty round every corner. Almighty, make us among the steadfast. Keep us firm in faith. Protect us from falling into the many traps to lure us away from You.
The closer you get to the Almighty, the quieter you become. You become less arrogant, more observant, and you do not seek people's validation. Remember, wisdom is silent, arrogance is loud.

We have witnessed in Gaza the most horrific genocide in modern history.
@MrsHarveyYear6@_MissieBee@LbQorg Same here. For the first time in years, I have actually enjoyed teaching long division and kids have enjoyed learning it too. @_miss
People won’t hesitate to pick on you, attack and slander you in public but play the victim card as soon as you clarify or defend yourself. So they’re allowed to do and say what they want about you, but you’re not allowed to respond? They get defensive when their true colours are exposed.
Stop scrolling. Imagine your murdered child in your hands. Imagine that is you, every memory with your child, every smile, laugh, tantrum, sleepless night, first words. It all comes to a crashing end because Israel murdered your child. Stop scrolling and feel their pain.
Almighty. Grant us healing and comfort. Only You know our pain and discomfort. Only You know our grief and sorrow. Only You know our loneliness and suffering. Restore us in every way and keep hope alive in our hearts. Aameen.
