Oregonians against the initiative petition The PEACE ACT that will ban all: hunting, fishing, slaughtering of livestock, harming rats/mice, and more...
Thank you The New American for lending your support to our cause. More national attention. Every bit helps. Calling on all Oregonians to please prepare to vote no on IP28 in the Nov general election. We won’t know the measure number til SOS verifies.

Initiative Petition 28 (IP28), also known as the People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty Exemptions (PEACE) Act, is being promoted as an animal-protection measure, but its practical effect would be a sweeping assault on rural life, food production, property rights, and the responsible stewardship of God’s creation.
@InsideSpread I do not believe tribal fishing rights at risk. The existing law that IP28 seeks to change did not mention tribal fishing rights. One cannot change treaties with initiatives.
Oregon just hit 126,000 signatures on IP28, a ballot initiative that would make hunting and fishing CRIMINAL acts under state law.
Threshold needed: 117,173. July 2 deadline: signature verification. November vote: your way of life.
Ore IP28 chief petitioners turned in 5,180 more signatures on 5/29/2926 (and so soon after the 5/20/2026 submission) making the total of signatures submitted 126,205 that are pending verification. To be on the ballot they need 117,173 verified signatures. They have 1 month left.
Thank you American Faith for the support! I especially appreciate your focus on the economic impact IP28 would have on Oregon if it passes.

Thank you for the support Seattle Red! Please let everyone you know to check with friends, family & nbr’s to spread the word on IP28. If someone did’t get a primary ballot, have them contact the county elections office to update their voter registration.

I am not surprised that IP28 got enough votes to get placed on the ballot, if the signatures are verified that is. However if this passes in November, Oregon will be destroyed beyond what the left has already done to it.
So many stupid people here voting to out California a once beautiful state.
Initiative Petition 28 (IP28), proposed for the November 2026 Oregon ballot, aims to ban hunting, fishing, and trapping by reclassifying these activities as animal cruelty.
The measure, supported by the People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty Exemptions (PEACE), removes current exemptions for killing animals, effectively criminalizing most hunting, fishing, and livestock slaughter.
This is not just misguided—it’s reckless and dangerous.
This proposal would devastate Oregon from top to bottom. The economic fallout would be historic, wiping out tens of thousands of jobs and pushing already-struggling families over the edge. This isn’t abstract. It hits commercial fishing crews, ranchers, farmworkers, restaurant staff, truckers, processors, pest control companies, and the small towns that depend on them.
It would cripple entire supply chains and hollow out rural Oregon almost overnight.
I respect animals. I believe in humane treatment, responsible stewardship, conservation, and ethical hunting and fishing. What I do not believe in is forcing an extremist, one-size-fits-all ideology onto an entire state through law—especially when it guarantees chaos, shortages, and economic ruin.
This isn’t compassion. It’s communist coercion.
The consequences are obvious and catastrophic:
* Who funds conservation when hunting and fishing licenses disappear? Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlifewould be financially gutted.
* Oregon would lose millions in federal conservation funding tied to lawful hunting and fishing activity.
* ODFW jobs would vanish—biologists, wardens, habitat specialists—gone.
* Ranching in Oregon would be effectively destroyed.
* Farmers wouldn’t even be able to plant crops without risking criminal liability for incidental wildlife harm. Imagine telling a wheat farmer he can’t plant because a field mouse might be killed.
Generations of ranchers and farmers—people who built this state—would be reduced to a footnote in history.
This is the most ridiculous and destructive ballot measure ever proposed in Oregon. And it won’t stop here.
If it passes, it becomes the blueprint—state by state—until they try to impose it nationwide.
Do not take peace, food security, or economic stability for granted. These activists will keep pushing until something breaks. And if this passes, Oregon breaks first.
This isn’t progress. It’s ideological extremism masquerading as virtue—and it will leave Oregon poorer, weaker, and divided.
@GovTinaKotek
Dear Oregon Voters,
If you think IP28 hasn't a chance, consider these are the people who outnumber us and will vote in November.
DO NOT SIT THIS OUT!
PS: Yes, mousetraps are illegal under IP28
IP28 is literally the worst proposal I have ever seen and I hope every Oregon voter realizes this, the fact 120,000 folks signed this garbage is genuinely amazing
If ballot measure IP28 passes, Portland is about to become a full-blown rat apocalypse.
We’re already the City of Rats — #11 on Yelp’s rodent infestation list with ~79,000 Metro housing units showing signs of them in one survey. Garbage, compost, fruit trees, chicken coops, homeless camp trash, and our mild climate have turned PDX into a giant rat buffet.
The “compassionate” animal cruelty bill makes it illegal for exterminators to actually kill rodents. Traps? Poison? Snap traps? That’s animal abuse now. Enjoy your new furry overlords!
Thank you Field and Stream for your support! Thanks for helping to spread the word! Please everyone, get ready to vote IP28 down in Nov! If you didn’t get a primary election ballot, contact county elections to update your voter registration.

@TonyAielloJr My son and I show people this and tell them about IP28.
We say vote No in November in the General election on IP28
We gather signatures for the Freedom Coalition petitions and we mention IP28 everytime.
Umatilla County Democrats also passed a resolution. (See earlier tweet) and the Clackamas County Republicans passed a motion to work in opposition to IP28 in the early Spring of 2025.
Here is the second county Democrat County Party in Oregon passing a resolution to oppose IP28. They passed it unanimously! Thank you to KTVZ for carrying the news! Crook County is home to the Crooked River Roundup. IP28 removes the rodeo exemption.

A leftist initiative in Oregon to criminalize the killing of animals for food, ending the state's meat industry, is now closer to being on the November ballot after receiving enough signatures. The signatures will have to be certified next. https://t.co/dVDEZadR2C
