@Eamon4prez @Botanygeek Not true if you pick at maturity. At maturity most modern blackberries taste great. But if you pick too immature they have poor flavor. Try machine harvested berries picked fully ripe & quickly frozen as whole berries.They have amazing flavor! @oregonberries @berriesGood4U

Actually many wild North America. blackberries are called dewberries. Western dewberry - Rubus ursinus was the foundational species in the USDA Oregon breeding program.
