Today, I joined the congregation at Holy Cross Cathedral, Lagos Island to honor His Eminence, Anthony Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie.

We gathered to celebrate a rare triple milestone, his 90th birthday, his 60th priestly ordination anniversary and his 55th episcopal ordination anniversary.

Cardinal Okogie’s life of faith, service, and leadership has inspired generations and left a lasting impact on Lagos and beyond. Alongside family, friends, and well-wishers, I was happy to celebrate his remarkable legacy and wish him continued good health, peace and God’s abundant blessings.

Over the weekend, I joined my brothers, Dr. Seriki Muritala, APC Candidate for Kosofe Constituency II State Assembly @Seriki_MI ; Orimoloye Damilare, SSA to the Governor on Sports @OriDharmi ; Tosin Ashafa @TosinAshafa , and other members of our team at the 4th Oba Saliu Babatunde Saliu Unity Cup, organized by His Royal Majesty, Oba Saliu Babatunde Saliu, the Oloworo Of Oworonshoki kingdom, as part of activities marking his 4th Coronation Anniversary.

One thing about me: when it comes to our young people, I will always show up. Sports remains one of the most effective tools for engaging our youth positively, steering them away from crime, social vices, and other negative influences while promoting discipline, teamwork, and excellence.

It was inspiring to see so many talented young people come together in the spirit of healthy competition, unity, and community development. As a team, we were proud to make our modest contribution in support of the tournament and the young participants who continue to make us proud.

I must specially commend Kabiesi for personally sustaining and growing this initiative over the years. The Unity Cup has become more than just a football competition; it is a platform that continues to inspire, empower, and unite our youth.

Once again, congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Oba Saliu Babatunde Saliu, on the occasion of your 4th Coronation Anniversary. May your reign continue to bring peace, progress, and prosperity to the kingdom.
