@cc22report If Raven develops a consistent 3 ball we are completely and utterly set long term IMO.
She's made huge progress over the FIBA break and it shows.
@cc22report Not to mention the Fever have a net rating of +7.5... That by all means is a mark of a very good team. (And assuming they win tonight like Vegas expects them too, they'll end with a 29-15 record... I'd say that's a record that absolutely justifies 2 First team All WNBA picks.)
@DayDreamThis@jackmaloneycbs Team USA won CC's minutes 36-20, lost the minutes she was off 46-40, I know it's not much but it's something to work with.
@cat_fan_45@cc22report Lexie and Mo unfortunately have guaranteed contracts for 2027 so not much Amber can do about it.
We'd be in a far better position if not for that, but luckily the big incoming cap raise should bail the FO out.
@cc22report Came up with this while I was playing around with the Fever cap sheet:
I can give a detailed explanation about how I arrived at some of the numbers but I suspect a tweet wouldn't be the right place to do so.
@cc22report@crcarver89 Problem with trading Mo is that getting a better backup 5 with a cheaper contract is not as easy as it sounds...
If CC does what AB did this year and takes less than the max for year 1 of EPIC then the numbers should work out fine even with Lexie and Mo still on the team.
@cc22report Their entire schtick is chucking 3s and have Angel Reese clean up the offensive glass, and take advantage of any opportunities created by said chucking.
Not too different than Mazzulla ball and Ime ball in Boston and Houston tbh, I can see the rationale here.
@cc22report There was also a rights change from NBC to ESPN that didn't help to say the least.
But yeah, for the first time in a very long time, it feels like the 5m figure from the inaugural game of the league can actually be beaten.
We truly live in historic times for the WNBA.
@cc22report@user172838hd30 The games we lost earlier this season are coming back to haunt us... could be the difference between 3 and 6 seed.
Tomorrow is a must win, lose and it's ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฌ
Except that the cap raise far outraces the annual salary raises, especially next season.
Cap can raise by a maximum of 10% year to year, next year it's even higher at 13% to a potential cap of $7.9m
Rookie and minimum contracts raise by 4% annually, other contracts raise by maximum of 5% annually, plenty of the cap raise will go into extra room to maneuver.
Assuming it goes that high Indy have plenty of cap space to maneuver to build around the big 3, if it doesn't then yes, Indy are in a sticky situation, but even then, they have ways out of it without being forced to choose between KM and CC. (But it'd likely mean spending assets)
@varadmehta This could easily end up being Vance's Achilles heel if he runs IMO.
Would certainly open him up for an attack during the primaries... He'd still be the favorite but it could be tougher than people think.
