Hi! I know it's been a while again and I haven't really been around for the last few months since February. But wanted to pop back up and let folks know I'm okay.

My personal life at the beginning of the year had pretty much reached a breaking point due to a certain individual. It had unfortunately led me to make the risky and scary decision to take my chances without a home. I was smart enough to keep a bag hidden with essentials, including money documents. I already prepared for the worst case scenario. Winter was kinda tough, and motels were the best temporary thing despite pricing.

Fast forward to now and I've gotten the hang of getting by with less than I need while saving money and trying to land a full-time job. My nervous system is less chaotic than where I was before. Not too long ago, I bought a bigger backpack for extra storage (and as a bigger cushion). Keeping spirits up by playing games, talking to friends and watching movies has been an important thing in this situation. Stores where I can stick around til closing are godsends from weather. I can still do art when energy and drive allow it. I still take care of myself and find places where I can get things done like changing clothes, hygiene, etc. so I don't look like a rat. 🐀

Even though I chose this, it's not a scenario I'd wish on anyone and it's not a choice for everyone. The reason I've held out for this long is not only thanks to you guys, but also from the fact I was already used to surviving a harsh environment. If you have to deal with what I had, know that it takes strong people to endure it. But you're stronger by leaving. Try finding help. Don't let someone make you feel small no matter who it is. I'll try being slightly more active. If you ever can, don't pass up helping others because it makes a world of difference for them. 🌸
