I once had a conversation with a guy was prominent in an effort to abolish the death penalty in my state. He appealed to how life in prison is a "worse" punishment than lethal injection, and at some point I said "just be honest do you think that anyone should be sentenced to life without parole?" and to his credit (maybe?) he was honest and said no.
