Using a silage additive this year? You could be reducing the effectiveness of the additive if sodium is low. Additives cost ~£1/t of silage, whereas adding sodium to a silage fertiliser is comparatively 28p/t for the sodium.

The Cost of Soil Sampling 💷
The real cost of staying with a standard sample could be much higher than you think. The per ha difference between a standard and broad-spectrum test is an increase of just £2.85/ha. Averaged out across a 5-year period, it’s a 57p/ha/yr difference.
What’s the difference between a basic and broad-spectrum soil sample? Basic · Only covers the main macro nutrients. Broad spectrum · Full nutrient spectrum. The physical process of collecting the samples is no different, but the difference in the detail is vast.
Today we are at the Suffolk School Farm and Country Fair, putting into context for year 3 and 4 children the role fertiliser plays in growing the volume of nutritious food needed to feed nations. Thank you Suffolk Agricultural Association
We talk about soil sampling a lot as it’s a vital process to achieve the right crop nutrition, but how does it work? Read our Nutrition Agronomist Toby Ward's blog to help you get the most from it or see the key points from our timelapse video...

This week we're taking a look at PHOSPHATE. It is so important at drilling because:
· It promotes early root development and spring growth
· Helps promote shoot formation
But not all phosphate products are the same -
