We are a philanthropic foundation established by @originenergy in 2010. We support education programs that help young Australians achieve their potential.
Congratulations to Jim Mackenzie, one of our proud Foundation volunteers, for raising more than $82,000 for a Newcastle-based charity that supports people in hardship, the Soul Café. Generous donations from @OriginEnergy employees were matched by our Give2 program. Well done Jim!
Today we joined a conversation w Minister for Education, The Hon @JasonClareMP plus school, business & philanthropy leaders about preparing students for their futures. School-business partnering can benefit all students, regardless of their postcode or socio-economic circumstance
These @Macquarie_Uni students travelled from remote Northern Territory to start their tertiary education through the Wuyagiba bush university program, proudly supported by us. They're bright, ambitious & continue to inspire us all, incl the next gen of #FirstNations students
We’ve seen how tutoring programs can improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged students. @GrattanInstiitute’s latest report, proudly funded by us, calls for high quality tuition to be embedded in Australian schools, to help tackle underachievement.
1/ About 2 in 5 Australian students do not meet the Australian proficiency standard in reading and mathematics by the time they are 15, according to the OECD.
Indigenous students and children in remote areas are also much further behind their peers. #auspol
As we wrap up the 2022 school year, it's time to recognise the amazing teachers, volunteers & parents who've supported children with their education this year. And a huge thank you to @originenergy employees who helped reach 5,307 students this year through #volunteering

Congrats @SmithFamily_org on strong results of the 2nd Catch-Up Learning trial - helping children with their numeracy & literacy. This builds on the success of the 1st trial we supported in 2021 & demonstrates the positive impact tutoring can have for students facing disadvantage
The second trial of our online, in the home, Catch-Up Learning tutoring program, supported by @AusGovEducation, has seen strong gains made in both numeracy & literacy skills - critical for children experiencing disadvantage who most need the help. More at https://t.co/l0YcwT8oku

Catholic students have helped make learning after dark possible for students living in energy poverty across the globe. The 'Eco Warriors' created solar powered lights heeding a call from the Vatican to do some good for the planet. https://t.co/p86fwTY9LB @LizzyAboud#7NEWS
