Court found the following:

-There was a promise to marry because ring was given to ward off attention of other males.

-Relationship lasted 11 years

-Both are elderly (above 60 years)

-Lived together for 8 years

-Financial interdependence

-Entrusting defendant to supervise significant construction project

-Public naming of Plaintiff as “in-law” in the obituary of Defendant’s late father which he accepted without protest

-Defendant’s surrender of her home at Dansoman for the past 9 years in reliance of the promise

-Plaintiff breached promise to marry by terminating relationship and asking Plaintiff to vacate East Legon apartment.

Unpaved roads may look harmless, but they’re quietly fueling floods and damaging our paved streets.

When roads aren’t properly graded, drained, or surfaced, rainwater has nowhere to go. Instead of soaking safely into the ground or flowing through drainage systems, water rushes over loose soil, carrying sand and debris with it.

This runoff clogs gutters and culverts, increases surface flooding, and weakens the foundation of nearby paved roads.

Over time, the constant flow of water erodes the base beneath asphalt, causing cracks, potholes, and eventually full road failure. What starts as a muddy, unpaved stretch can end up destroying expensive paved infrastructure.

Better drainage, proper road design, and regular maintenance aren’t luxuries, they’re necessities to prevent flooding and protect our roads.
