Became a REAL Met fan @ BUNNINGS Perfecto, 1964. My Dad made us stay for the 2nd game of the DH~Mets lost that game, too! Real fans don't leave- we never have!
I’m fine with keeping Mendoza and Stearns for the rest of the season since it’s obvious neither of them will get fired but both of them have to go in the offseason. You can’t run it back with them after missing the postseason 2 years in a row and it really should be 3 years but they got lucky in 2024.
@mets_pobo In speaking to fans much younger than myself(77) it seems that it’s ‘out of touch’ to expect players to be affected by….anything. been told they don’t NEED a manager,he can’t ‘help’ them, they have their own ARMY of people, including own agents, staff, trainers, & I hate this.
Mendoza must be fired
It’s never been more clear that he holds absolutely nobody accountable and the players like him but do not respect him
Not a winning formula
Huge disappointment. Bichette has always gone oppo but scouts say he isn't pulling the ball in hitter's counts as often as in past. Line drive % down too. However, the numbers say he has as many hard-hit outs as just about anybody in MLB. Still think it will turn for him.
Mark Vientos was an experiment that went bad. He can’t field. He can’t run. He can’t hit. And he thinks he is great at all of those things. Jared young is much more productive and should get the playing time. Vientos trade value is virtually non existent but he needs to be moved off this team ASAP. He just isn’t good and his lack of self awareness makes it worse. He is very good at exaggerating his accomplishments on instagram. So that’s one thing. @Mets
It’s still so crazy to me that Mark Vientos, David Peterson, Sean Manaea and Kodai Senga were all horrific last season and David Stearns answer to solving that was getting rid of Pete Alonso, Brandon Nimmo and Jeff McNeil
I totally understand wanting to “blow it up” but why not get rid off the trash first?
It’s like wanting to clean a smelly fridge by getting rid of the groceries you bought yesterday while leaving the moldy leftovers
"Jonah doesn't have a breaking ball that you really trust to try to finish someone off with. You see enough pitches, you've got him measured."
- Daniel Murphy (says the quiet part out loud)
This is why I said to trade him last off-season. Two scouts I spoke to said the same thing. The Mets wanted to experiment with multiple different arm angles because Tong does not possess any average pitches outside of his fastball. We spoke about it on the show multiple times.
Problem is there’s no accountability players are too comfortable knowing that mistakes and errors won’t cost them playing time and can we stop with using an opener should have just let Tong start the game
