Last one: did not mean TCL meant TFCC slightly less common than hamate issues but very similar. Just for a hamate they take the bone out and TFCC your kind of just in no man’s land. Axe Handle can also give relief for TFCC sprain/tear. Likely a sprain because not many ways to fix

95% sure Gunnar is having hamate (or possibly TCL) issues. His whole career I’ve never seen him without this knob + Tape. Now he’s swinging an Axe Handle. You don’t play around with transition to Axe for no reason especially while you’re struggling. Also commonly delayed surgery

Lower swing confidence goes a long way. There’s not much of a way to wrap my head around what the WBC looked like to the season and to not be completely convinced that he’s just playing through pain.

Conclusion: think people would be shocked how many pro hitters play through a Hamate break (I hope it’s not TFCC) because people play through those too but they’re often less straightforward to fix. They will announce injury right after the season.

Call me crazy if you’d like … but this looks like an avoidance slide. Simpson slides early, softly, and well away from the bag. Griffin takes a wide step with his transfer and Simpson shrivels up to try not to make hard contact with Griffin. Not in the slightest but dirty.

For everyone in the comments of this that just DOESNT KNOW BALL. He was out in front of a changeup, showed adjustability out on his front foot front and hit a homer on a defensive swing. Granted it was 94 but if you’re confused why this looks “different” just stop commenting plz.
