A construction challenge this afternoon caused some patient rivalry, as they tried to complete their lego @fairybricks models in the quickest time. This type of activity is not only fun but can help develop fine motor skills and build confidence.

To celebrate International Day of Play and to support the big Play @starlight_uk the play staff and patients made sure lots of staff had to take time out to take part in a playful challenge.

Last week the play team themed activities around Fire Safety, to end the week they had a fantastic visit from Green Watch, Aberdeen Central Fire Station. The families, patients and staff learned lots and had so much fun. Thanks to everyone involved @firescot

To celebrate Volunteer Week and our fantastic Play and Therapet Volunteers, we invited them to learn more about Art Room @GHATArt. It was a really positive experience for us all and we even had time for a cuppa and some cake.

Dylan our play worker is on a feedback roll @CareOpinionScot "My son was seen recently in the emergency department with his finger stuck in some hard plastic. Dylan, the play worker came to see us very quickly. He was extremely proactive offering lots of sensory support....."

Dylan and Alison are delighted to show off a very kind donation of construction toys we received from Younes, who explained he had once been a patient in the hospital and he wanted to donate something back to the service. Your kindness is greatly appreciated.

We had lots of fun today designing our own Red Noses to help support Red Nose Day.

Today we received a brilliant donation of Arts and Crafts from our friends at Dragonfly Cancer Trust. This fantastic selection of arts and crafts will help keep our families very busy. Another fantastic charity that regularly supports our work. Thank you.

A winning Wednesday for us as we received a very generous donation from @starlight_uk of a gaming box. This is heading for the Recreation Room in our Day Case Unit. This charity supports us regularly with resources, professional support and training. Thank you Starlight.
