@StevieDougie@iranidaturan It is clear that the administration is concerned about the economic repercussions of continued military action and nothing less than the application of military force will destroy this regime. He mentioned the specter of a 1929 economic collapse.
@JohnnyNash77 The US is not obligated to overthrow the regime. It is up to Iranians to depose the regime. The regular army is armed and it has not done anything. Why should Americans fight more to depose the regime than the regular army? Where are all the defectors we heard about?
@NiohBerg To be clear, Iranians define “help” as the US doing all the fighting and spending billions of dollars as the Iranians , including the army, watch without rising up. Should the US receive reparations due to the seizure of American hostages?
@emilykschrader The US is not obligated to take into account the will of the Iranian people. The US should act in its own interest. Why hasn’t the regular Iranian army rebelled?
@NiohBerg Yes he does. Confiscation is a legitimate tool of war. Iranians should have stood by the Shah. Actions (or the failure to act) have consequences. Given all the money that the US has spent fighting the Iranian regime, the US would be morally justified in seizing the money.
@NiohBerg If the Iranian people fail to rise up, including the army, you may be right. The US has done a great deal for Iranians. If the Iranian army refuses to fight the regime, why should Americans?
@gghamari How would the US arm them? The US will not just drop arms from planes! The Iranian army already has arms but they refuse to oppose the regime. Please give us a specific plan for arming Iranian civilians.
