@Ord_Off Is it unclear to us or unclear to the Pharisees, Christ’s audience of his day in his culture. Yet I agree that all preachers/teachers should be clear in what is being taught.
@Ord_Off Can not see the truth or the right way to go. I understand the hurt this could cause yet it is not about blind people per say but those who do not know or see the truth and lead others who do not know or see the truth astray.
@Ord_Off Exodus 4:10 - some translations use stuttering, or stammering
. Isaiah 32:4, Isaiah 33:19. It is true that this is not in the same context as the Matthew passage, yet the Matthew passage is not referring to blind people but teachers who claim knowledge or truth yet…
@Ord_Off We are talking about metaphors. As someone with a speech defect should I call it ableist when scripture talks about stammers. Or do I look at it exegetically and hermeneutically and understand the truth of the passage that is being addressed?
@Ord_Off Why are you including me personally when that is not what the conversation is about. If I was leading someone or people astray and I was warned I would like to think I would change in line with the truth that is pointed out.
@SWalkerLeeds HI Steve. We will be praying for you as you start this new church in Middleton. We also started a new church in St Ives in January also called Hope Community Church. We will be praying for you.
