Here in Miami-Dade Schools, how can a teacher hope to enter the middle class, raise a family, and afford an apartment or home with salaries like these? Something must change! Salaries should start at $65K and after 10 years a minimum of $100K @MiamiHerald@MDCPS@clarasophiadaly
Why I’m Running for UTD President:
1. To Fight for Higher Salaries
2. Lower Union Dues
3. New Leadership, New Vision

It’s outrageous that a Panda Express manager can start at $75k-$80k, while it takes a Miami-Dade teacher 25+ years to earn that. Teachers deserve to start at $65k+—it’s time to pay them what they’re worth. Investing in teachers means investing in our future. @MiamiHerald
I proudly marked an X, not because I was told to, but because I believe in the power of unity. Since 2013, I’ve been a proud union member. Our strength lies in standing together, not alone. Unions are the backbone of the middle class. Together, we’re unstoppable! #UnionStrong
Get out and vote! Ruben voted for Gustavo Ortega—**353**—for Miami-Dade School Board, District 3. We need everyone to come out and vote! #GustavoForSchoolBoard
Mary, a lifelong teacher like her husband, bought their home just four houses down from where she grew up. She attended her local public school and said, 'We love teachers, and we need teachers on the school board.'
Elect Gustavo Ortega for Miami-Dade School Board, District 3.
