@BoringBiz_ I’ve been remote the last 2 years after getting my masters and I agree. You are limited as you can only show what you can do/what you bring over a screen in subtle ways. Certain convos I could overhear which would be opportunities for work/progression you can’t capitalise on.

I hate technical rounds 😭

What do you mean I’m expected to write code completely on my own, from memory, under pressure, while someone watches me, without Google, without Stack Overflow, without docs, and somehow remember the exact syntax for everything?

In real life, no one codes like that. Half of software engineering is knowing what to search for, reading documentation, and figuring things out as you go. But in a technical round, apparently I’m supposed to become a human compiler and instantly recall every method, edge case, and framework API I’ve ever touched.

You’re testing my coding skills, my memory, my stress tolerance, and my ability to pretend I’ve never opened a browser, all at the same time 😭

@Zmei_Hhsss Being able to relate to others and understand them is an invaluable life skill. Can’t compete with those types of people unless you’re too 0.001% of intelligence. Finding a happy middle is the best solution

that’s the question isn’t it. what WILL she do? there are no youth clubs for her to attend. food, cinema tickets, any sort of third space activity is all too expensive. their parents are underpaid, saturday jobs don’t exist any more, children have truly been abandoned by the govt

@DoubleAFutebol He didn’t have a great season tbf. I understand Luke shaw, but Dalot ahead of him I’ve always thought was criminal. But carrick has known him for a while and was his first season with Maz so he’ll probably get alot more game time next season
