UNCHANGEABLE
Hebrews 13:8 NKJV: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Jesus Christ is eternally unchanging; His love, mercy, and truth remain constant. Because God never changes, His promises are fully trustworthy today, just as when He delivered the Israelites from slavery. Today, we've peace knowing He remains faithful to rescue us from impossible situations. Let's pray, worship, and obey His word, lifting our burdens to Him with confidence in His grace.
EXAMINE MOTIVES
Philippians 2:4 NKJV: Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Show kindness and love to others with pure, humble motives rather than expecting rewards or seeking personal gain. We must allow God’s Spirit to work within us; for Him to reveal our hidden pride, and purify our hearts so we can emulate the selfless example of Jesus Christ. When we serve others out of authentic love instead of self-interest, our actions align with God's will and bring true honor to Him.
SERVING GOD
Joshua 24:15b NKJV: But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
In his farewell address, Joshua urged the Israelites to reject false idols and wholeheartedly serve the one true God. That same call applies to us today. We are challenged to do personal introspection and examine whether money, status, or material possessions have taken God's place in our hearts. Scripture reminds us that no one can serve two masters, so the choice is in our hands. We must make an unreserved personal declaration to serve God.
Psalms 46:10-11 NKJV
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
GOD’S RIGHTEOUS
Isaiah 26:2-3 NKJV: Open the gates, That the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in. You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
God protects, provides for, and grants perfect peace to the righteous who faithfully trust Him. As believers we must obey His commandments and align with His will. As our unshakeable Rock of Ages, God never forsakes His people. By remaining steadfast, trusting His process, and persevering through trials, we receive His peace and crown.
GOD’S EVER PRESENT
Luke 24:15-16 NKJV: So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him.
Jesus walked unrecognized beside two grieving disciples to Emmaus. The moment they realized who He was, they rushed back to Jerusalem to alert the Apostles. Like Apostles, we often get engrossed in life's struggles forgetting Christ is right within us. We must ask God for understanding to discover His presence and quickly return to Him when overwhelmed.
UNSHAKEABLE FOUNDATION
Matthew 24:35 NKJV: Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
In terrifying times, God’s word is an eternal foundation, while earthly things, status, and possessions are temporary. Materialism does not benefit our spiritual lives. Scripture reminds us that while flesh withers like grass, the Lord's word endures forever. We must surrender to God, rely on His strength, and focus on His word rather than worldly pleasures.
Psalms 51:1 NKJV:
Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions.
BE VIGILANT
1 Peter 5:8 NKJV: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
As believers we must stay vigilant against the devil's attacks. To resist, God instructs us to remain steadfast in Word study, worship, and fellowship. Knowing scripture keeps us clear headed to defeat the enemy, just as Jesus did. Praying for discernment reveals evil plots, while surrendering to a faithful, limitless God gives us strength to stand firm.
