I heard Nick Saban say this the other day: YOU have 5 choices in sports (Life)
YOU can be BAD, AVERAGE, GOOD, GREAT, or ELITE.. Everyday your choices will fit in one of those groups.
Talent will probably allow you to be good BUT that's it..
How will YOU get to ELITE in life?
@lindseygage5 I have been doing it a long time and received some very interesting emails. What would they think if we showed up to the job and critiqued them?? Because we are a coach we are fair game for some reason.
I absolutely love college football, bowl games, and the awards that go with it. However, I am bothered by the fact the Heisman Trophy Winner wrote “F Utah” on his fingernails on National TV! Remember, what you do matters!
All you Terry Holder baseball guys will understand the power of a Hardee’s!! We would drive 80 miles out of the way to eat there because he was so superstitious!!
Great teammates don't protect each other when someone's out of line. Great teammates protect the culture because they realize no one is bigger than the team.
"Kids haven’t changed. We’ve changed as adults. We demand less of kids. We expect less of kids. We make their lives easier instead of preparing them for what life is truly about." #FrankMartin#HoldThemAccountable
PLAYERS: When you become a "whatever the team needs" type player then you become a great teammate and your team's culture is strengthened. Great teams have great teammates.
A teammate who holds you accountable, who keeps you focused, who tells you the complete honest truth is so much better than a teammate who watches silently as your bad habits/bad attitude affect your game, the team & everything else around you. Real teammates never sit silently!!
Parents. Your kids are in high school now. You shouldn’t message me to ask what time we are leaving for a game or what time practice is. If they don’t know, let them miss it. They’ll start paying attention.
