Day 2714. A beautiful morning after capturing two hours of the North America Nebula, then spending the rest of the night on Andromeda. I’m shooting calibration frames now and will process everything later today.
Day 2715: The North America Nebula lies about 2, 600 light-years away near Deneb in Cygnus. The photons captured Saturday left 2, 600 years ago—so this is what it looked like then. Astrophotography is time travel. The Pelican Nebula is on the right.
Day 2731: I researched eye anatomy to better understand the link between posterior vitreous detachment and retinal detachment, then drew what I learned. Thankfully, they didn’t occur together. My risk is higher for a few months, but still low.
