It’s this very specific detail that continuously gets lost in the shuffle.

The war in Gaza isn’t about defending Israeli lives per se- regardless of what these people tell you, they’re not actually worried about wanton slaughter ensuing.

The war is about protecting the existence of Israel *as a Jewish state* not protecting Israel as the “only democracy in the Middle East.”

This is where the problem has always been for me. America doesn’t fight religious wars. American tax dollars have no business funding religious wars. Whether or not Israel exists as a “Jewish state” should not be relevant to this discussion in America. And yet it’s the only thing that people like Graham care about. His guiding principles are quite literally antithetical to America’s foundational principles.

In a different time he would be removed from office immediately and tried for treason based on this little outburst.
