DURBAN β KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has sparked debate after calling for principled leadership and accountability across all sectors of society.
"We don't have to all agree, we don't have to be friends, we don't have to like each other, but we all have a responsibility to serve the interests of South Africa," Mkhwanazi said.

ESTCOURT, KZN β Several foreign-owned shops were looted in Estcourt on Friday as tensions over foreign traders erupted into violence.
According to reports, crowds moved through parts of the town targeting businesses believed to belong to foreign nationals. Police confirmed that at least six shops were looted, while other reports suggest the number could be higher.

π¨ COURT DEALS MAJOR BLOW TO MARBLE TOWERS OWNERS IN JOHANNESBURG CBD
JOHANNESBURG β The South Gauteng High Court has dismissed an urgent application by the owners of Marble Towers, handing the City of Johannesburg a significant victory in its campaign to reclaim unsafe and illegally occupied buildings in the inner city.
The court ordered that parts of the building deemed non-compliant be sealed off within 72 hours, with fencing, barricades and warning signs erected to prevent occupation and use.
Owners have also been given 20 days to submit compliant building plans, address fire safety violations, remove unlawful structures and resolve other regulatory concerns. The court further ordered that no additional unlawful construction may take place.
