Open a shop near a busy garage, a transport hub, or an area with many mechanics.

Mechanics are your biggest customers, and being close to them gives you a constant flow of business.

Instead of trying to stock every spare part available focus on items that are replaced regularly, such as oil filters, air filters, fuel filters, brake pads, spark plugs, fan belts, wheel bearings, suspension bushes, shock absorbers, engine oils, coolants, wiper blades, bulbs, and batteries. These products move quickly, require less capital, and generate consistent cash flow.

Out of the KSh 500,000,

— Invest about KSh 320,000 in initial stock,
— Set aside around KSh 50,000 for rent and deposit,
— Use KSh 30,000 for shelves and branding,
— Kshs. 20,000 for licenses and permits,
— Keep the remaining balance as working capital for restocking fast-moving items.
