The Finnish Forest Bioeconomy Science Panel (@metsapaneeli) has a new website. Bioproduct Chemistry research group's Monika Österberg is a panel member, so check out their website in English (Finnish, Swedish also available): https://t.co/AibQ8aJqAj
Meet Sahar Babaeipour, a doctoral student in our group developing durable #coatings for #textiles and #packaging based on #lignin, a plant-derived polymer found in the cell walls of #wood. https://t.co/yyOPNWMxPe
The @OsterbergLab is looking for a #postdoc with good knowledge of surface chemistry to work in project(s) on #biobased barriers. Spread the word to apply!

Can't find a concise and thorough overview of plant-based nanoparticles to improve their performance and development? Look no further, our review article in @ACSChemRev is out: https://t.co/AyPHobObGy
The Brussels visit of FinnCERES and @UNITEflagship is starting! Today, MEP @ElsiKatainen together with MEP @UliMuellerMdEP and MEP @juozas_olekas are hosting a joint breakfast event around sustainable forestry and wood-based materials. Interesting day ahead!
Congratulations Alexander! Brilliant achievement in a very high-quality competition! Warm congratulations to all the pitch presenter who made it to the Young Researcher's Challenge final in Stockholm.
Congratulations Alexander Henn from @AaltoUniversity and sponsored by @puunjalostajat for winning the Young Researcher's' Challenge 2022 @MW_Prize! Both the jury and fellow researchers selected Alexander's 3MT presentation as the best in class - well done! #marcuswallenbergprize
Kiitos käynnistä, @HonkonenPetri & @AnitaOKM 🤝 @AaltoUniversity ja VTT rakentavat kestävää tulevaisuutta tieteen keinoin. Yhteistyö rokkaa myös tutkimuksessa!
@FinnCERES on hyvä esimerkki huippuosaamisesta ja rohkeudesta💕

Long-term competence development and multidisciplinary cooperation create new innovations and a path towards a sustainable future. Thanks for visiting us! Ministry of Culture and Science @HonkonenPetri @AnitaOKM @KlaaraTapper
Pitkäjänteinen osaamisen kehittäminen ja monialainen yhteistyö luovat uusia innovaatioita ja polkua kohti kestävää tulevaisuutta. Suurkiitos vierailusta ja inspiroivista keskusteluista @HonkonenPetri, @AnitaOKM ja @KlaaraTapper!
We introduce a generic foundation for combining hydrophilic cellulose with varied hydrophobic soft polymers, designing multifunctional composites using only biodegradable polymers & lignocellulosic materials, a big step toward fully #sustainable use of #naturalresources.
@EKimiaei and teammates have innovatively engineered the #interfacial chemistry of #wood#polymers to maximize the benefit from these valuable resources, eliminating the need for any chemical modification.

Check out our new article, where we demonstrate a new efficient and #sustainable way of using lignin in formaldehyde-free adhesives! We hope it can lead to an increased use of #lignin in #building materials and #composites.

Combined research groups @AaltoUniversity combined plant-based hydrogels to mimic the mechanics of soft tissue. #Cellulose nanofibrils, #lignin nanoparticles, and tragacanth gum outperform previous studies, and have great potential in tissue engineering. https://t.co/LGYgefI70F
How much wood would a wood glue glue if the glue was made of wood? Lignin nanotech makes a sustainable, inexpensive glue from industrial pulp waste. Visit stand 7B.12 and find out how @lignosphere put this tech together! https://t.co/GngydLJr2u #Slush21@henn_alexander
Lignosphere puts forestry waste to good use. Lignin is a promising material, but refining this byproduct of forestry has been tricky. Their technology breaks past current bottlenecks to reduce — or even replace — petroleum-based chemicals in adhesives, coatings and composites 🌲
