WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO OFFER LAGOSIANS ?
Deputy Governor of Lagos State and Lagos APC Governorship Candidate, Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat @drobafemihamzat
The Lagos APC Gubernatorial candidate explained his focus on strategies to improve Transportation and being able to move as many people around generally across Lagos State by increasing the integration of water, rail, and road transport.
- The OMI EKO Project: The continuation of the recently launched ‘OMI EKO Project’ by Governor Sanwo-Olu (17-11-2025), which seeks to introduce 77 electric ferries across Lagos waterways, routing ferries parallel to 3rd mainland bridge, new Morden terminals, new dredging routes to open up more channels and many more, the aim is to increase water usage for daily commuting and connect villages, neighborhoods, and city hubs.
- RAILWAY: The continuation of the #BlueLineRail linking Mile 2 to Okokomaiko and also linking the #RedLineRail with the #BlueLineRail at National Theatre. The lines are expected to move 500,000 people daily, dramatically improving cross-city mobility and shorten travel times, which will enable wider housing choices for commuters.
- BUS RAPID TRANSIT: Dr Hamzat has advocated for large BRT buses to move large passenger volumes, which is standard practice across the world. He says the Mini-buses are not sufficient enough for the passenger volume in the State.
- ROAD EXPANSION: He specifically referenced the Mende–Ojota Link Bridge and a planned phase two connection to the third axial road before the Third Mainland Bridge, he says this combined approach roads, BRT, rail, and ferries is meant to decongest main arteries and improve overall traffic flow.
Finally, For Housing, Accessibility and General Economic Impact, Dr Hamzat says a place like Ajara Estate, Badagry, once the transportation plans (rail, BRT, expanded roads and alternatives are right) residents that live farther from workplaces will have better access to the city center, which will drive prosperity, enable trade, industry, and innovation by reducing travel friction.
The Deputy Governor once again says moving people around massively and easily is a major importance to a big City like Lagos State.

An American called out President Trump over the increase in fuel prices in the United States due to his war in Iran.
Trump is the reason the world is experiencing this present fuel price crisis, not Tinubu.

The Chief Marketer of Nigeria, taking the country’s story, opportunities and potential to the global stage. 🫡🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
I join family, friends, and millions of Lagosians to wish you our Deputy Governor and the Gubernatorial Candidate of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat, a happy 62nd birthday, we celebrate a true Ọmọ Ẹkọ Pataki.
Earlier today, I had the privilege of speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected executives of the National Association of University Students (NAUS).
In my address, I charged the new leadership to uphold the values of unity, accountability and student-centred representation. I reminded them that leadership is a call to service, not a privilege, and urged them to work collectively in protecting the interests and welfare of Nigerian university students.
I also encouraged them to build meaningful partnerships with relevant stakeholders and contribute actively to the advancement of tertiary education across the country.
I congratulate the newly inaugurated executives and wish them a successful and impactful tenure.

To round off my day, I met with faculty and departmental executives of the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), alongside our campus captains, to strengthen our campus mobilization structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Following our recent engagement with student leaders at Lagos State University (LASU), this meeting represents another important step in expanding our engagement across tertiary institutions in Lagos State.
Our deliberations focused on the strategic role students can play in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda through grassroots mobilization, voter education, active civic participation and peaceful political engagement.
We remain committed to building a united, inclusive and well-coordinated student movement that will mobilize broad support for our progressive agenda come 2027.

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of meeting with the Board of Trustees and Executives of the National Union of Lagos State Students (NULASS) National Body to engage in meaningful discussions on the future, relevance, and sustainability of the union.
Today, I had the pleasure of receiving my own people from Badagry—the Committee Members of the Gbenu Youth Movement, led by my brother, Mr. David Sunday—at my office.
It was a rewarding engagement as we held meaningful discussions on issues of grassroots development and youth-driven progress in Badagry. I am encouraged by their passion and commitment to building a stronger and more prosperous community.
I was also honoured to receive their invitation to the upcoming Gbenu Youth Summit 2026, themed “Lead the Change: From Voice to Action.” I sincerely appreciate the thoughtful gesture and look forward to joining them for what promises to be an impactful and inspiring gathering.
Together, we will continue to champion purposeful leadership, active citizenship, and sustainable development for the benefit of our people.
I was in Ikoyi earlier today for the launch of WHO IS SHE? by Princess Damilola Sonayon James.
This book is more than just theory. Princess Damilola uses her actual journey as a community organizer to show why supporting and investing in women is a practical necessity for our local communities,
Putting your experiences and lessons into writing is never easy, but it is very important for guiding those who come after us.
Congratulations to her on this achievement.
Today, I received the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command covering Lagos and Ogun State, AIG Olohundare Jimoh Moshood, on a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Ikeja.
We had a good discussion on strengthening security collaboration and sustaining peace and safety across our state.
We will win over banditry and terrorism. I assure you that we will invest more in our people. Nigeria is resolved to be great and is on the path to greatness once again.
