The young man in the middle is Odera. While my village youngsters were preparing for JAMB exam last year he was the tech guy supporting their monthly CBT assessments.

One of the days I casually asked him what he studied in school and he told me that he hasn’t gained admission into the university. I asked when he graduated from secondary school and he said 2016. That’s 9 years ago. He couldn’t continue because no one was there to support him.

I asked him if he is still interested and he said yes. He quickly registered for the exam and had couple of weeks to prepare. He had forgotten most of the things but we crashed it.

Later on, he went in and wrote the exam and passed.

He has gotten admission in UNN and has proudly matriculated.

In all the agricultural news I have read today this is the most st*pid one. you people refused to improve and produce more do not say Organic farming can't feed Nigeria's growing population, please.

Today, this youngster from my village Odera who abandoned school since 2015 has now gained admission to Study Agric/Bioresources Engineering in University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

He was the tech guy helping the youngsters in my village to prep for their JAMB during our program. I liked him and encouraged him to participate in JAMB. He earlier resisted because he thought it was impossible for him to make it but decided at the end to try. I gave him all the support he needed and he came out victorious.

He is the same guy that built the power solution for village market women to be able to sell stuffs at night. He never stops amazing me.

He will be a good addition to the university and the sky will be his starting point. I pray he excels beyond measures.

This youngster from my village named Odera developed this renewable power solution that is cheaper than using a candle.

He built it for market people in villages selling akara, bole, roasted yam suya at night so they can stay longer and earn more money.

The cost of one candle today is N150 and an average person uses 2 to 3 candles per night. He installs his solution at no cost and charges N70 per light bulb used every night.

This solution can only power light bulbs and recharges with solar. He remotely controls it.

This is the type of thinking I love to invest my money in. It has large societal impact especially to the unreached.

Odera is a youngster from my village. He is so passionate and knowledgeable about agriculture. He was amongst those that went for Songhai agricultural training after our JAMB prep program.

This is his first fruits and he has been celebrating it. I have supported him and will keep supporting his relentless impressive effort.

He is a star!
