Pioneering the future of sustainable transport across the continent. The African Electric Expedition is electrifying mobility in Africa, proving that homegrown innovation can drive us from the Pearl to the Cape. Proudly @ugandanmade256! #FromThePearlToTheCape#WeBuiltTomorrow

The African Electric Expedition’s stop in the Kingdom of Eswatini showed what happens when innovators, leaders, and partners move with one vision. The message was clear, Africa can build, scale, and own its solutions.

What is deeply disturbing and profoundly unsettling is the apparent indifference of bystanders who chose to stand by and record videos on their phones rather than intervene to stop the inhumane and barbaric treatment of the victim. Such passivity in the face of brutality not only normalizes violence but also perpetuates a culture where human life is devalued.
@abokiwife@PoliceUg@KawalaRachael There were allegations that he had snatched a lady’s handbag, although some people claim the thief was on a boda. He was most likely suspected due to stereotypes about his braided hair and muscular build.
@Engnassernsimbe@imraanKG This is very annoying and disturbing. I hope our judicial system will use Obed and others to set a strong example for the public that laws must not be broken and that mob justice is completely illegal.
@PoliceUg@KawalaRachael You may think the Uganda police are useless… but just wait until they’re looking for you. That’s when you’ll suddenly discover how terrifyingly competent they can be.
Well done, officers thank you for apprehending Obed.
May justice prevail.

@JustineNameere I’ll be honest this has genuinely surprised me, and not in a good way. The office of an Honourable Member of @Parliament_Ug and a Minister of @GovUganda carries immense responsibility and public trust. Actions like this don’t just reflect on the individual they reflect on the institution, the Cabinet, and most importantly, the constituents who placed their confidence in you. I sincerely hope for better.
Extending the same online payment system to registration fees is a logical and necessary step. It would eliminate unnecessary middlemen, give parents direct control, and allow them to present clear digital receipts to schools.
Overcharging by schools remains a serious issue. The current opaque system creates opportunities for corruption and exploitation, making it easy for some to inflate fees and divert funds. Direct online payments to UNEB would ensure greater accountability, minimize leakage, and guarantee that more resources actually support education rather than private pockets.
@AKasingye@Arsenal Oh, I’m sure it’ll be quite the historic evening for @Arsenal. Always love watching those special moments unfold exactly as expected 😂
I love his conviction in protecting the interests of our people, especially on land issues. God bless Ladit Okello Okello it was always a pleasure hearing him unpack knowledge and wisdom on the radio stations in Kitgum (Pol FM, Radio Kiti, etc). I don’t know if we shall ever find one like him again.
Growing up in Kitgum, he was the first person many of us ever heard called "Engineer." Not a title. A whole identity.
For a generation of Acholi youth, Hon. Eng. Hillary Onek was proof that one of us could go that far, and come back to serve.
And the man earned it.
He worked as a site engineer on two of the world's most extraordinary hydropower structures ever built:
Nurek Dam in Tajikistan (305m) and Inguri Dam in Georgia (272m). He didn't just study dams. He stood on them.
Then he brought that expertise home. As Minister of Energy & Minerals (2009–2011), Eng. Onek was part of the leadership team that advanced Uganda's most ambitious power projects, including the groundwork that pushed Karuma (600MW) and Bujagali (250MW) forward. Today, those two plants supply the backbone of Uganda's electricity grid.
Now he steps into a new role, Minister of General Duties, Office of the Prime Minister.
Congratulations, Hon. Eng. Onek. Keep on inspiring. 🇺🇬
