The Game Plan Is Simple.

Kikuyus want Nairobi for themselves. Babu also wants Nairobi. Sifuna wants the larger Kikuyu support. Sifuna has to compromise. He has to make a choice between Babu and the entire Kikuyu support.

The initial plan was to give Babu a Kikuyu deputy, let him win, and then have him impeached less than one year into office. This was going to be easy, given that DCP anticipates having the most seats in City Hall, giving them numerical supremacy.

Babu knew all this and decided that he must be the party leader. He crafted his own party in a bid to control his fate. He wants to be in charge of his election and, most importantly, stay in office. He does not want to be someone's puppet or someone who could be impeached at any time.

Now that Babu has been so clever, Sifuna and Gachagua have decided to do away with Babu as early as now. The idea is to remove the Luhya votes from Babu, which I fear may work because, in the long run, Luhyas in Nairobi will vote for whoever Sifuna tells them to.

It is all about politics. Sifuna is willing to betray Babu for Kikuyu support. He is taking a gamble, but we must all agree that it is the most practical decision. I mean, Kikuyus have the numbers that Babu alone cannot match.

The only downside to this is that it may cause a backlash from the larger Raila Odinga base, who will see this as a great betrayal by Sifuna, dumping Babu for Kikuyus.

Ultimately, the important lesson learnt here is that Babu should have first worked on becoming the Luo kingpin. He should have invested his resources and time in Luo Nyanza. He would have been too big to be bullied. I offered this advice to Babu long ago, but you people told me there was no space for tribal politics.

It is despicable that Ruto can donate Ksh 20 million to a church in one weekend while people in Homa Bay are still using roads that look like this in 2026.

Apart from exposing the panic in the Kenya Kwanza regime, the images and videos coming out of Homa Bay are exposing something else entirely. In 2026, we are seeing places with terrible roads and stretches where you can barely see electricity poles, yet these are the same people being told TUTAM.

Now you almost start wondering whether some leaders were really worried about stopping the Linda Mwananchi rally, or whether they simply did not want the rest of Kenya seeing the Homa Bay that the cameras are now showing us.
