Explain why both these issues are not already solved in a way that does not make my point by illustrating the broader limiting factors on these topics, rather than pretending that the scale of government necessarily means that it can do anything, even including the things that it fails to do over long periods of time.
@web3swae@aruvinchan Are you married?
If yes, for how long.
Are your parents married? For how long? -if still married, do they not discuss issues with each other? Or do they go straight to "dread"?
@lilxanathustra@aruvinchan Pretending we know what "she" will do in the future is silly. Only shot someone has is to be direct and try to paint the picture. You can start being passive aggressive like the OP recommends but that's weak tea isn't it?
@aaaaaaagghhhh an alternative take is that what people say on their popular insta and tiktok accounts is mostly bs that they haven't considered, don't mean, and is basically just a regurgitation of whatever their algo is already putting out.
we do not have the capacity to address 60k tragedies all at once and also hyper focus on a single person's plight, as a nation, as a public square. that is preposterous.
this is one of the most toxic and damaging mantras people recite.
is it your view that we let those people die because we want them dead? that is implied if you think we have the capacity to get riled up about 1 deportation in a sea of what will end up being millions of deportations, AND ALSO marshal a nationwide re-alignment of drug and incarceration policies to prevent these deaths.
time and attention and resources are finite. you didn't address the fires in the amazon in your post - is that because you want the fires to happen or is it because time and attention is finite and not every topic need be addressed to some arbitrary depth in every single exchange?
Sure your post was reasonable and address some nuance, but you didn't address the 60k human tragedies I mentioned from OD's in the USA annually...
What else am I obligated to address in a single response?
The whole point is that A) there are far worse things going on; B) he's not even doing anything about what he is complaining about despite having the means; C) he doesn't even live in the USA anymore (afaik); D) people with means engaging in this purely performative political complaining, rather than trying personally to improve the lives of those in their actual communities are a major form of political pollution.
@LeeRespecter "So much insecurity about him winning..."
Couldn't be that Trump signalled a bunch of pro-biz and de-reg policies and Wall Street loves that shit...
He can't even give Trump for being pro-corporate and corporations liking that. Hilarious.
@YashHustle_22 Just need to build build build and as you build the building gets faster...
then you're always learning at the frontier of what AI can do.
My man - I am on the total opposite side of this issue (keep fracking, do more) but I love that you called him on this because even though I disagree with GN on thsi, he IS totally performative on it. Not to mention the dumping of roundup all over CA forests... how did allow that?
