We’ve never said that. #ADOS are a unique amalgamation. We descend from both slaves & slave masters. Those are just facts.
All of that “we are Africans in America” foolishness is unserious Africa worship. It’s not accurate. We’re Americans in America.
It’s apparently perfectly acceptable to harshly criticize Kamala Harris over Gaza, but never over reparations or a Black Agenda.
We don’t despise the Black chattering class enough.
Crockett is selfish. A lot of the women who support her are also selfish.
There’s nothing to do now. When she tries to run for elected office again, just remember that she’s an egotistical grifter & send her on her way.
Just finished listening to this conversation between Joy Ann Reid and Ta-Nehisi Coates, and as you can imagine, it was EXTREMELY problematic.
And that’s without even taking Joy’s RBG Juneteenth shirt into consideration. 🤦🏾♂️
Nobody who is speaking critically of Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign today is looking back and saying, hey, maybe those ADOS folks had a point.
I find that extremely problematic, especially coming from someone who is labeled as one of the great writers of our time.
In 1915, a change to the Chinese Exclusion Act paved the way for an explosion in the number of American Chinese restaurants
In 1919, as #ADOS men returned home from WWl, white mob terrorism directed at ADOS caused the year 2 become known as Red Summer
Gov’t picks winners/losers
@Black_Action@Al_B_Done@1beinggood Also the same people who tell us to stop kissing the American white man’s ass don’t view themselves as kissing the French white man’s ass. It’s interesting. I don’t respect it.
Idris Elba has no idea what woke means, which makes sense when you remember that he’s not #ADOS.
It makes sense that he’s so lost that he has adopted the American right’s bastardization of the word woke.
This is one of the reasons why lineage matters.
Black pundits will tell you that the stakes are too high to criticize Democrats now, but when civil rights activists were being murdered by the KKK & terrorized, they still criticized Democrats.
MLK was criticizing LBJ even as they were working on legislation.
How we arrived at the absurd idea that quiet loyalty to Democrats would yield progress reflects the total incompetence of the Black political class.
@SW1774@FrankLuntz@EWErickson@Bakari_Sellers Homes where parents aren’t married aren’t necessarily fatherless home.
Poor people tend to live together & avoid marriage for a variety of reasons.
We are poor.
I hate stupid people. And you’re an idiot.
You don’t need to “push a Black agenda” to be effective.
And what good is an Obama presidency—be it one or two terms— if it doesn’t address our community’s needs?
This is what happens when we allow elected officials to address everyone’s specific needs except our own. And people who think like you deserve this outcome.
For the life of me, I can’t fathom their arrogance.
Trump’s rise & the gutting of Civil Rights era gains is just as much a failure of the Black Political Class as it is a failure of Democrats more generally.
Deleting comments won’t change that. And they haven’t been saying it for 20 years (as Monique Pressley says in her YouTube reply).
They spent the last 10 years marginalizing the ADOS movement for aggressively challenging Democrats for how they neglect their ADOS base.
The attached video is from 7 years ago when Kamala Harris first ran for president. It was obvious then that Pressley didn’t understand lineage. We never said Harris wasn’t “Black enough”.
We said Harris—an Indian/Jamaican— couldn’t run on a lineage she didn’t have and we weren’t voting for Obama 2.0.
We said Harris needed a serious BLACK AGENDA. Pressley said Harris was getting harsher treatment because she’s a woman. She was DEFENDING Harris. And regardless of the sexism female candidates face, Harris still needed a serious BLACK AGENDA. They should’ve been pressuring Harris instead of rallying around her.
Fast forward to now and Pressley and her guest on her YouTube show are having the revelation that they *DO* need a Black agenda. That they *DO* need to be agenda driven rather than just aligned with the Democratic Party. That they are about a decade TOO LATE.
They spent far too much time defending Democrats instead of pressuring them. They should get honest about that & take some responsibility for their political incompetence.
