⬇️ RAO (procedural to 24h), bleeding (BARC >2), and hematoma (EASY >2) with distal access
⬇️ Crossover with proximal access (likely reflecting operator experience)
🟰 No difference in radial spasm (possibly related to vasodilator cocktails)

Grateful to have presented this meta-analysis at #ACC26 alongside an amazing team.
We explored local complications of distal vs proximal radial access in PCI/CAG, with some interesting findings👀…
@DrRobertoLeo Thank you so much!
Regarding radial artery occlusion, the top regimen for preventing it was verapamil alone. And verapamil + nitroglycerin was the most effective combination for preventing both RAS and RAO.
🫀Honored to see our abstract presented at the #AHA25 Scientific Sessions! Great teamwork and mentorship behind this project on intra-arterial vasodilators in transradial coronary interventions.

After discussing and exploring different research ideas, our team, Meta Cath, had a breakthrough! We successfully defined our PICO question and submitted our research idea on time!
#MedResearchHackathon breakthrough moment. #MAAHackathonChallenge
After the Introduction Module and Lesson 1 of the #MedResearchHackathon:
I realized my day-to-day clinical practice holds real research potential.
When a clinical problem becomes a research question, persistence is key.
Eureka!
