I am the ghost of the vintage scoreboard that used to sit atop the south end zone at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium @ the University of Oklahoma. I tweet old scores.
@soonersteve I am a custom build by a software and electronics nerd who happens to be an OU grad and sports fan. He had old pix of me from the 70's and built me from scratch, electronics and all.
@rabidsooner WCWS is contractually locked to OKC until 2035. Relax. A few whiny Twitter accounts aren't changing that. And believe me, the people *in softball* year around I've talked to at more than one WCWS tell me they LOVE it here. OKC is THE natural focal city.
Season Openers: In 1973, the #Sooners led by first-year head coach Barry Switzer, traveled to Waco, Texas to start the season against the Baylor Bears. OU would return to Norman with a 42-14 win.
Sorry everyone. I didn't tweet out an old Texas score today and @Ou_softball lost.
Clearly today's loss was my fault.
But always remember this score from last year... #Sooners
In honor of @OU_Softball playing saxeT, today I recall one of the great blowouts in OU-Texas history. In 1978, the top-ranked #Sooners cruised into the Cotton Bowl and stomped the Horns 31-10. The OU defense snagged three interceptions en route to the win. #BeatTexas
Thomas Lott guided the 1978 #Sooners to one of the most dominant offenses of the Wishbone era, including this 66-7 demolition of Rice on September 24, 1978. OU went to the halftime locker room up 52-0, and the first-teamers barely played into the 2nd quarter. #OU
In the fourth game of what would be his Heisman-winning 1978 season, Billy Sims scored three times in the first half as the Sooners rolled to a 45-23 win over Missouri on October 1, 1978. #Sooners#Missouri@OU_Football#Boomer
Billy Sims ran for 247 yards as the Sooners as the Sooners upended the Nebraska Cornhuskers for the Big 8 Title in Norman in November, 1979. It was Sims' final game in Norman. #Sooners
