The importance of Gen Z leadership is often overstated.

The events of today are a direct consequence of the demonstrations that concluded in 2023. Raila Odinga was targeted personally, losing many close supporters in the process.

When uninformed critics attack the NADCO process, refusing to engage because they reject structured dialogue, it becomes clear we're dealing with a segment of ignorant individuals.

The law-making process is complex and requires considerable compromise. Today, a bill concerning the IEBC selection panel was signed by the President.

To wake up and label Raila a sellout is to ignore the fact that all significant governance achievements in this country have been accomplished through structured political processes.

Notably, the selection panel created by this bill does not include Gen Z representation, as the law drafted last year did not recognize them.

Furthermore, protests have become trendy, with some commercial activists hoping to intimidate others into chaos.

You cannot attack Raila while refusing to engage in a structured manner. Genuine progress requires structured political engagement.
