Glad to share our latest work on artificial spider silk. We have constructed water-soluble spider silk-fusion proteins, and produced artificial spider silk by an aqueous spinning system. The fibers have excellent extensibility and outstanding toughness. ☺️
Our work on the sustainable spinning of exceptionally tough and functionalized spider silk fibers is now out in Advanced Functional Materials:

Excited to share the news that I have been awarded the grant by Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation to study the biomimetic spinning of spider-silk fibers. Thanks for supporting my project!
Especially thanks to my supervisor @ArankoSessi
Vuoden 2023 apurahansaajat ovat täällä! ✨
