After watching the Madlanga Commission and seeing how Musa Khawula was deliberately kept in custody, absurdly denied bail while posing no threat to anyone, I’m more convinced than ever that we’re witnessing a CAT Matlala 2.0 moment in the Shebeshxt case.
His incarceration over the December and New Year period, when other artists are cashing in, has all the fingerprints of a coordinated move. SAPS, the NPA, and the courts all playing their part. My suspicion.
This looks like a cartel play: keep him out of the market during peak season, create space, and let those behind the plot move in and displace him.
Shebeshxt is not a threat to anyone. He is aware of the gravity of his charges.
Yet bail keeps being denied.
That alone tells you this isn’t about justice, something is sinister.
