https://t.co/ILHBiE4Wxq OurBigBook email sending, required for new signups, has been restored. We've had to migrate to AWS SES after SendGrid killed their free plan without adding a cheap/pay as you go to replace it.
https://t.co/RmxakGQP5h It is now possible to upload files such as images and source code to https://t.co/jh6MU95icc. Example: https://t.co/xUriqlxSO5 This was previously only possible on static websites. Now the it works for both OurBigBook Web and static websites.
https://t.co/g9jns2LQak We've used gpt-4o-mini to populate the 100k+ wikibot pages for only $3 e.g. https://t.co/uPLIjh41ng or: https://t.co/DzQCe1gSIq It does add a bit of value by filling in some definitions for quick checking, and resolving some soft 404 from Google index.
https://t.co/27liLfiV2S With Automatic topic linking, regular text gets automatically converted to links to topics if part of the text matches an existing topic.
https://t.co/azVy8saISn for the last two months https://t.co/jh6MU95Q1K has been SPAMmed and recently the spammer even had the patience to do a bit of vote fraud and upvote a post to the top from 13 other accounts! We have now taken measures to prevent their evil doing.
https://t.co/3jCcjdwLHG we've cleaned up OurBigBook Web tab navigation to have two levels. Much cleaner and better looking than the previous one level scheme.
https://t.co/No2Kc7tz0F Scopes now show clearly as a prefix when viewing descendants at toplevel on static and dynamic sites. This makes it clearer what pages are about. Static demo: https://t.co/kByOSLMeRY
Dynamic demo: https://t.co/VpaamXdh1B
https://t.co/Lmf8YkSs6f The topic ID with a link to the topic now shows up on the Web editor. This helps users decide if the topic is suitable for their article.
https://t.co/elH7citN4E You can now update your profile picture on OurBigBook Web by uploading an image from your computer to the website. Previously, we only supported linking to an external image URL.
https://t.co/EIS9SrKE6O The {disambiguate} header argument now shows on most navigation such as incoming links and breadcrumbs. This makes it easier to identify the link subject.
https://t.co/9qN5nl1Xa2 you can now view tagged, incoming links and child articles of any article including their bodies in OurBigBook Web. We now also show a clear message if some articles were not loaded because the table of contents was too long.
https://t.co/9lsR7H4aT1 You can now search for articles and topics by title prefix. We are looking into extending this to also finding internal words with full text search.
While OurBigBook Web topic mind melding remains the most innovative feature of the project, local plaintext is a fundamental guarantee that you will never lose your content, and we intend to keep it awesome.
- rename README.bigb to index.bigb. Much cleaner, and we already have a conflict on the baseneme index.html, so why create another conflict with README
- rename out to _out which is a reserved ID. Otherwise it was impossible to have a directory called out with ourbigbook files
