SH25 is closed by the intersection with Wade Rd due to flooding. Cordons are being established. Avoid the area.

This includes toilet flushing, running dishwashers, washing machines, showers - anything that discharges into the wastewater network until we're able to get the pump station operating again. We'll keep you updated as repairs are made.
We have experienced a failure on one of our major wastewater pump stations in Whitianga and are currently mobilising teams to undertake a repair.
It's important that ALL residents of Whitianga reduce their wastewater discharges to the network immediately.

There is surface water and debris from trees across the road in many places. High tide at around 9.30am this morning is not expected to cause any issues, however river levels are high. Heavy rain and gale force winds will persist through until late this afternoon.
