Dear teaching profession.

Parents don’t ‘form a cabal’. They become deeply concerned and communicate their worries. When a school refuses to listen they organise and present a united voice.

A sort of democracy if you like.

When plenty saw it as evidence of moral failure, parental failure etc.
So plenty of ‘thinking & saying’ but almost no curiosity?

I’d add it’s still devastating for SEND kids who are not ‘gifted’ but are still able - with real areas of strength that are never recognised/developed. The low expectations of achievement coupled with high expectations of behavioural conduct are particularly infuriating

Many schools still equate SEND with low ability. In reality, many highly able and gifted children are also autistic, ADHD, dyslexic,etc. These DME/2e (twice-exceptional) pupils are among the most overlooked and underserved children in the current education system. @bphillipsonMP
