The significance of Tim Evans being unseated as chief judge of the Cook County Circuit Court yesterday cannot be understated.

It's a massive win. Evans was a disaster.

More broadly, Evans' loss should be viewed as another heavy blow to the progressive movement in Chicago.

In the past two years, progressives were utterly humiliated when Eileen O'Neill Burke defeated Clayton Harris and when voters kept the CTU from controlling the Board of Education.

Evans being ousted keeps our winning streak alive.
