Support OutLine in style! At the Big Gay Out in Tāmaki Makaurau tomorrow, we’ll be selling OutLine merch to raise funds and promote our rainbow mental health support services.
Contactless payment will be available, so you can pay on the day with your phone, credit or debit card. All proceeds will go directly to OutLine.
Even if you don’t want any merch, we’d love it if you stopped by the OutLine stall to say hi!
We’re excited to introduce OutLine’s new Counselling Coordinator, Lee Grabarek.
Lee (they/them) is a tauiwi, queer, transmasculine person who has had the privilege of working with Aotearoa's rainbow communities in a range of leadership, support, and educational roles.
Marty is leaving OutLine to study counselling at university, while also continuing their mahi at Tāmaki Paenga Hira (Auckland War Memorial Museum).
Marty has been a superstar member of the OutLine team and we can't wait to see them thrive as a counsellor in the future.
OutLine is sad to say farewell this week to our Counselling Coordinator Marty Blayney, who’s been an invaluable member of the team since January 2022. Marty trained as an OutLine phone and chat volunteer in 2020 before joining the team part-time.
Over the last year, they have worked hard to streamline processes within our rainbow specialist counselling team. Their mahi has greatly reduced our waiting list, resulting in a record number of people receiving counselling in the last year.
Volunteers are at the heart of OutLine, from our incredible phone and chat support volunteers, to the Board members who help set our strategic direction.
OutLine is proud to introduce our two newest Board members, who joined the OutLine Governance Board at the end of last year.
Both Louise and Set bring valuable experience to the Board, and we're thrilled to have them helping to shape OutLine's strategic direction.
If you’d like to learn more about our Board members, visit: https://t.co/ZGUkI0qfY3
Our chat support service is available today at https://t.co/y4qlU5aU1N from 6pm to 9pm, and our free and confidential phone support service at 0800 OUTLINE will be available again tomorrow from 6pm to 9pm.
We have lost a true great, but Georgina’s incredible legacy will live on.
OutLine is devastated to learn of the passing of transgender trailblazer Georgina Beyer, who died in hospice care today aged 65. Georgina (Te Āti Awa, Ngāti Mutunga, Ngāti Raukawa, and Ngāti Porou) was the world’s first openly trans mayor and Member of Parliament.
As Aotearoa’s rainbow communities come together to grieve and celebrate Georgina’s life, many of us may find we need some extra support. OutLine is here to help if you need to talk.
