After posting a photo of me, I ended up getting some pretty horrible comments about my appearance, and I’ve been too scared to post a photo on here since…
But I’ve decided I’m not gonna let nasty people dictate what I post - so here I am, unashamed of what I look like 😊
Mental health is now one of the leading causes of medical discharge.
But many veterans leave service with:
⚠️ No diagnosis
⚠️ No care plan
⚠️ No handover into civilian services
This must change. Our report shows why change is urgent 👉 https://t.co/9jxuF8Zfah
Every year, 2,000 Armed Forces personnel are medically discharged. That’s five people a day.
👉 40% say they feel unprepared for civilian life.
The system is broken. It’s time to fix it.

“A Moment of Eternity” is one of the landscapes captured around Lynton and Lynmouth, by Olga Vynnyk. Olga is a fine art photographer, originally from Ukraine who has been selected to participate in the London Art Biennale one of the UK’s most prestigious international art events.
Too many veterans are left to fight for the support they need mentally, physically, and financially. This isn't just their fight - it's ours too.
We stand with them every day, providing life-changing support that rebuilds lives.
Together, we must fight for the peace our Armed Forces community deserves and end the Veterans War.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

@LBC@BenKentish I don’t think it’s just those that are medically discharged that face negative experiences. Some leave after 22 or 30 plus years and are simply cast adrift from all they’ve ever known and forced to stand alone. For many a veteran this is incredibly difficult,
“We shouldn’t really exist, but we do, because veterans need support.”
Help for Heroes’ Julie Thain-Smith tells @BenKentish about the ‘negative transition experiences’ faced by those who are medically discharged.
For those who have served, today like many other days may trigger feelings and thoughts that are hard to talk about. If you are struggling, it’s always worth reaching out to speak to someone. A good hike with a mate is something I love👊🏻 #RemembranceSunday#MensMentalHealthMonth
My best friend’s cousin has been missing for two days. Last seen in the Stockport / Manchester area.
If you’re from those parts (and beyond!) it would be hugely appreciated if you could share and help get the word out.
@Schmiffy12 Thanks Bob...
