Due to strong winds, the Men’s GS has been cancelled today but with Lara Gut-Behrami’s 38th World Cup win and Sara Hector’s fourth place finish we are more than happy with the outcome of the weekend. Maybe the GS can be held in Gurgl, Austria in three weeks time.

How to Quiet Your Mind and Relax
In our busy modern lives, it can feel nearly impossible to slow down and relax. Our minds are often racing with thoughts about work, family, and the many responsibilities we have. This constant mental chatter can leave us feeling stressed, anxious, and unable to fully rest. Learning to quiet your mind is an essential skill for overall well-being. Here are some tips to help you find inner stillness and relax.
Find a Quiet Place
It's hard to calm your thoughts when surrounded by noise and distractions. Seek out a quiet place where you can have uninterrupted alone time. Turn off the TV, radio, phone notifications, and anything else that could break your concentration. You can retreat to your bedroom, go outside in nature, or sit in an unused meeting room. You can find a spot where you can relax without intrusions.
Focus on Your Breathing
One of the easiest ways to connect to the present moment is to focus on your breathing. Sit or lie down in a comfortable position. Close your eyes if you want. Place one hand on your stomach and breathe deeply and slowly. Feel each inhale fill your belly, and each exhale releases tension. Keep bringing your attention back to each breath if your mind wanders. The rhythmic pattern of breathing can lull busy thoughts to rest.
Practice Mindfulness Meditation
Meditation is an effective practice for calming the chatter of your mind. The goal is to sit quietly and observe your thoughts without judgment. Start with just 5-10 minutes of meditation per day. Get comfortable and close your eyes. Focus on the pattern of your breath. When thoughts arise, don't ignore or suppress them. Acknowledge each thought, then gently let it go and redirect your attention to your breathing. This helps train your mind to stay calm and present.
Visualize a Relaxing Scene
Imagining a peaceful, soothing environment can put your mind at ease. Envision somewhere you feel content and secure. It could be a beautiful beach, a quiet forest, or your favorite room at home. Picture the details of your surroundings - the sights, sounds, smells. Feel the environment relaxing your body and mind as you mentally escape this calming scene. Allow it to fully occupy your thoughts.
Get Some Exercise
Physical activity is a known stress reducer and mood booster. Take a relaxing walk, do some easy yoga, or get out in nature - any exercise can help calm your thoughts. Focus on connecting with your body. Feel your feet on the ground, the sun on your face, your breath synchronizing with movement. Expending your energy will leave you feeling renewed and relaxed.
Refrain from fighting to clear your mind completely. The goal is to let thoughts flow in and out gently without getting caught up or attached. With regular practice using techniques like these, you'll get better at creating spaciousness in your mind and body. Quieting your mental chatter is possible - and so is the serenity it can bring.
