At the very moment Sunday Igboho was mobilizing efforts to track down the kidnappers and locate the victims who had been held hostage for weeks, the Governor of Oyo State , @seyimakinde, suddenly found it necessary to impose a curfew in parts of the state, including the very area where the schoolchildren were abducted.

What makes the situation even more suspicious is that before these rescue efforts began, there was no curfew in place. The government of Makinde apparently saw no urgency in restricting movement while innocent citizens remained in captivity. Yet, the moment individuals and local groups started organizing to pursue the criminals and secure the release of the victims, the authorities abruptly remembered the need for a curfew.

This sequence of events naturally raises questions. Why was there no such restriction when the kidnappers were operating freely? Why did the curfew emerge only when attempts were being made to track them down? These are questions many concerned citizens will continue to ask.

Given these circumstances, one cannot completely dismiss the remarks previously made by former Gov @GovAyoFayose regarding Seyi Makinde and the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping incident. Whether those comments were accurate or not, actions and timing such as these will only fuel public suspicion and deepen concerns about the handling of the entire situation.

When innocent schoolchildren are abducted and families are left in agony, the priority should be the swift rescue of the victims and the apprehension of the perpetrators not actions that appear to frustrate or complicate efforts aimed at achieving those objectives.
