@jimjano @GowagsKyle I did this when I coached. My game charts not only listed playing information, but also bench responsibilities, and we did bench check ins between every inning to see what they had picked up, and added it to adjustments we were making in the game

It’s a lot harder to make a mistake as a pitcher than it is as a hitter. Hitter makes a mistake and gets 2 more swings. Pitcher makes a mistake and it’s the game.

You leave out that hitters get the same data on the pitchers tendencies and actually have live simulators to have ABs against them before ever seeing them in a game
